This brooch or sash pin  also doubles as a pendant because is has a wide area behind the clasp that allows this wide vintage mesh snake chain to go thru with no problem.  Outstanding Glass amethyst color set in gilt brass that is so rich in patina makes you realize the work it took to make these as compared to modern day pieces that are all made by machine.  The length of the neck is 16" with an additional 2" drop for the detachable brooch. The solid brass bezel that holds this faceted purple stone is 1 3/4" wide.
