Oil on canvas by Edith Morehouse [American, 1899-1979]. Garden City, NY artist who won national acclaim in the 1930s-1960s. She studied abroad with Robert Henri, Irving Wiles, and Frederick Bridgman. Morehouse specialized in portraits, and captured many of the famous Gold Coast [New York's upper echelon] residents like the Dukes, Biddles, Paysons, etc. She had an artist studio in Garden City, New York 22.5" x 20" framed.
