Terrific pair of American majolica portrait tiles from the American Encaustic Tiling Company, Zanesville, Ohio, depicting Napoleon and his wife Josephine in a translucent deep amber glaze. c. 1878-1895. The tiles are in excellent condition with crazing as shown and a small glaze nick to the leaf in the victory garland on the portrait of Napoleon. Please write with any questions you may have.
