Our extraordinary pair of antique settees with impressive provenance are crafted of ebonized gilded papier mache and inlaid with mother-of-pearl, and were made by Jennings and Bettridge, circa 1848.   Each 32 1/2 in high, 64 in wide and 30 in deep.  Literature:  Japanned Papier Mache and Tinware c. 1740-1940, Y.
