Paktong Decanter Label: Gin

$220.00
Quantity available: 1
Possibly made in the Orient, but more likely in the Western Hemisphere, this label is of paktong, a highly tarnish-resistant alloy introduced from China in the Seventeenth and Eighteenth Centuries. Matthew Boulton and other English silversmiths welcomed its properties, and that it was not subject to taxation. On a fine hand-wrought silver chain, the label boasts a neat feathered border and evidence of careful planching on the reverse.
