This is an old (cir. 1900) scene transfer on top of a patch box. It has a brass band an clasp around the two porcelain pieces with the old brass hinge. This is very well made with no cracks, chips or scratches. Frankfurt am Main is a metropolis and the largest city in the German state of Hesse and the fifth-largest city in Germany, There is evidence of Celtic and Germanic settlements in the city dating from the 1st century bce, as well as Roman remains from the 1st and 2nd centuries.
