Peck, Stow, & Wilcox Carpenters Ratchet Brace No. 10-1202

This is a very nice, clean, late 1800's patented ratchet hand brace, and it has a 10" swing. It is marked "PAT'D JULY.9.1895" on the steel chuck sleeve. It is also marked "P.S.&W. CO.NO. 10-1202" basically a abbreviated name used by (PECK, STOW, & WILCOX). This model has the flip lever ratchet control system. The ratchet system and chuck is in very good condition with nice heavy duty, spring loaded jaw inserts, the knurled part of the chuck or the chuck sleeve is steel with very little wear, very good working ratchet system as well. The head turns smoothly, has ball bearing spindle, and is capped with a very nice rosewood handle, and the crank handle matches it very well in condition and appearence.  The head handle rosewood has one chipped area with a slight crack on it where the wood meets the steel face plate.  The condition is very good overall, with little wear overall.  We note light pitting on evenly on most places on the exterior steel, no rust noted. The sweep handle is also rosewood, and in very nice condition. In really good working condition overall. A quality made brace, still in great shape, nice looking too!
