Vintage Pewter Animal Head Stirrup Cup - Pewter Goat Stirrup Cup by COLONIAL WILLIAMSBURG.  The signature is on inside.     . Stirrup cups were popular throughout the late 18th and 19th centuries. The cup was presented to guests while still on horseback, hence the name stirrup cup. They were also commonly used to serve guests a traditional drink prior to a foxhunt while in the saddle. A rare piece to add to your vintage barware collection! This is a vintage piece that shows signs of age and wear such as some roughness on the rim and a few very minor scratches.   There are no dents.   It measures 4.25" tall.     Old patina is settled it especial on the goat's head.
