Or Best OfferHERE IS A STUNNING HAND PAINTED ROSES HANGING PARLOR OR LIBRARY LAMP FROM THE VICTORIAN ERA. IT WAS MANUFACTURED BY THE PITTSBURGH LAMP, BRASS AND GLASS COMPANY. EXAMPLES CAN BE FOUND ON PAGES 165 AND 174 OF JEFFERY EBERSOLE'S NEW BOOK "HANGING VICTORIAN LAMPS". LAMPS SIMILIAR IN QUALITY TO THIS ARE QUOTED IN $2500-$3000 RANGE. IT WAS ORIGINALLY A KEROSENE LAMP BUT IS NOW ELECTRIFIED. THE CROWN ON THE SHADE IS NOT ORIGINAL TO THIS LAMP. THE ARTISTRY OF THE PAINTING OF THE MATCHING SHADE AND FONT IS BEAUTIFUL AS CAN BE SEEN IN THE IMAGES. THE ROSES ARE RED TO MAUVE WITH GREENERY AGAINST A GOLDEN BACKGROUND. THERE ARE 50 GLASS PRISMS 4" IN LENGTH, GLASS CHIMNEY AND A SMOKE BELL. THERE IS A MOTOR PULLEY BUT THE CHAINS ARE NOT HOOKED INTO IT. THIS LAMP HUNG OVER A DINING ROOM TABLE IN THE ESTATE IT CAME FROM. NEEDS TO BE HARDWIRED INTO THE CEILING (NOT A SWAG). SHADE MEASURES 14" IN DIAM, AND 6.5" HIGH. OVERALL LAMP IS 17" AT WIDEST AND 40" IN LENGTH. NO CHIPS, OR CRACKS IN GLASS; JUST A LITTLE ROUGHNESS ON THE RIM WHICH CANNOT BE SEEN. PAINT OVERALL IS IN GREAT CONDITION AND THERE ARE NO BREAKS IN THE BRASS. A REALLY GORGEOUS LAMP IN FINE CONDITION.
