Pompeii Dancing Faun Bronze Sculpture After the Ancient

Our Grand Tour era bronze of the Dancing Faun of Pompeii is signed Musee de Naples and measures 25 by 9.25 by 10 inches (63.5 by 23.5 by 25.4 cm).  There are numerous scratches to two sides of the plinth, and small rectangular shaped alteration to the patina on the top of the plinth, likely from an old paper label.  One of the mounts is a little loose, but structurally sound.  There is a very old restoration to the right arm, and a noticeable scratch through the patina on the outside of the right arm.

The original is on display in the atrium at the House of the Faun in Pompeii, and remains one of the most popular sites in the entire city.
