An expressive example of the Ancient Pre-Columbian Mesoamerican Colima culture, 300 BC - 300 AD. Burnished polychrome earthenware effigy vessel designed in the rare form of a sitting owl with legs that project at the front and a short tail at the back.
The vessel is painted entirely in dark brown with black dots. The wings feature incised sgraffito designs. The head has large, pointed ears and coffee bean-shaped eyes. A central cylindrical spout with a loop emerges from the top of the head.

MEASUREMENTS:
Height: 21.5 cm (8.46 inches).
Width at the widest point: 13 cm (5.12 inches).

CONDITION: Displaying signs of age and use, with evidence of wear and areas of earthen encrustation. It is in great condition for its age, without any cracks, repairs, or restorations. Please refer to the photos, as they are part of the description.

Please note that the pictures were taken under studio lighting, so the vessel appears darker and less glittery in natural daylight.
