I cant even imagine the days or weeks it takes to make something with so much hand wrought Etruscan metal work. It is truly a lost art. IT looks like intricate metal lace everywhere!/ The stones are genuine carnelian and the design is just awesome!. This is NOT a new piece and it has aged gracefully with dark patina. There has to be at least a thousand little spirals on this , not to mention the edgings. This is about 4" tall and 3" wide. The lid closes and stay on fine. I am not sure of the metal content, but it is heavy.
