Purse/Carved Ivory or Bone Handled/Crocheted

This little purse is really quite lovely. I am not sure just what the handle is carved from, ivory(elephant or marine?) or bone of some kind. You can see in the photo where an unknowledgeable person has used what looks like a hot needle to test the frame. The other side of the frame is untouched. They not only did it once, but4 or 5 times! But, they are not distracting to the overall effect. The closeup of the frame shows the detail of one of the dragons. As you can see, the body of the purse is hand crocheted, out of what I think is silk thread. It has the "hand" of silk. The body is in very good condition. The handle is in good shape. There are two small places with discoloration. It looks as though the strap on one side has worn through and has been tied back together.(hence the knot) Overall, in very good condition. It is unlined. You can see where the body is hand stitched to the frame. The frame is aprox. 5 1/2"x1 5/8"/handle is aprox. 15 1/2" around. The shipping fees quoted are for priority/Insured in USA.
