This is a very nice, clean, and working measuring tape with the steel 50' tape with silver numbers against black background. The leather covered body is marked "ROE 50 JUSTUS ROE & SONS PATCHOGUE N.Y." This style features the steel tape measure in 1/8 inch graduations with a very clean 3/8" wide steel tape. This one also has the flip latch for pulling the tape of the reel. The body under the leather is steel, and the hand crank area is nickel plated steel and brass with about 85% of the nickel plating intact overall. This is a 50 foot tape measure, but the exterior body is on 3.3" diameter, small enough to fit in your pocket. The leather is not perfect, but overall is still well attached with about 90% intact. By a quality toolmaker in the mid-1900's era! A tape of this quality would cost well over $100 for this size if it were being manufactured today. A classic collectible tape measure!
