RUSSIAN 1896 Tsar Nicholas II CORONATION Beaker Cup Coronation Cup made for Emperor Nicholas II Alexandrovich and Empress Alexandra Feodorovna in 1896. It became known as the, "Cup of Sorrow", because during the Coronation festivities approximately 2000 people died during a stampede in Moscow trying to get one of the souvenir cups. It is made of enamel with images of Nicholas II and Alexandra's ciphers over 1896 coronation date, Russian Imperial eagle and Pan-Slavic ornamental scrollwork. The condition is very good.
