These stones actually change from blue to purple to lavender ( see photo with the different colors). These are not aurora borealis. These are specially made stones that shift in color without a top layer like aurora borealis has. Only a few designers used these and this one is signed Sherman. I do have a Kramer set as well. 
This brooch is quite fabulous with many types and shapes of stones. The brooch would look great on a lapel, a dress or even a hat. These are so hard to get so don't miss out at the last minute. This one measures 2 1/2" long. You will get lots of compliments on this when the colors start changing.
