SILVER COW CREAMER/ HUGE C. 1900-1940s ANTIQUE FIGURAL 815 GRAMS STERLING
This outrageously large antique sterling silver cow creamer dwarfs the competition in form, size and condition and dates no later than the 1940s and could be as early as 1900. She weighs 815 grams or 26 troy ounces. Dimensions: 10-1/2 inches in length from nose to tail, 6-3/4 inches high to top of horns, 5-1/4 inches high at the withers, and 2-1/2" across the chest. Stamped at the base of the tail 925 Sterling, with the crescent moon and crown denoting Germany as its origin, and a hallmark.
I can't say enough about her beautiful realistic detailing---musculature, veined face, and intelligent eye. I have had a few of these behemoths over the last 20 years, but I do believe this huge chunk of sterling silver is the weightiest and best in show.
