Offering this top quality T-handle type (without the handle) hand drill auger in very good condition. The auger bit is marked by the maker; SNELL ..G CO. 8. This spiral auger drill is very clean, no rust, no damage, sharp and ready to drill 2.0 inch diameter holes in wood. The auger is double cutting edge, double spur with fairly smooth polished spiral surfaces. The center lead screw is in very good condition. The auger bit has a threaded end nut that holds the bit securely in place when attached to a fitted handle. In this case this auger is being sold without a handle as it most likely will be repurposed for a boring machine application as it has a .50 inch diameter main shaft. The auger bit has a .50 inch diameter main shaft and is 19" long overall, The auger bit is in good solid condition, no damage, no cracks, some light wear and minor dings, very strong and solid. Snell Mfg. Co. Fiskdale Mass. U.S.A. was believed to be in production of this type of auger from 1870-1905.
