Spirit of NW Statues Green Bay WI PC This is a nice color linen post card with white border titled The Spirit of the Northwest, Green Bay, Wis. On the back it reads, Sidney Bedore, sculptor, depicts the beginnings of settlement in the Fox River Valley. The figures are Father Claude Allouez, who established St Francis Xavier Mission on the Rapids des Peres 1671, Nicholas Perrot builder and commander at Fort St Francis, 1684 and first Governor of Northwest Territory and as Outagamie, or Fox Indian who held in the 18th century Fox River and the surrounding country against French domination.
