Staffordshire “Spanish Convent” Platter
This is absolutely one of the prettiest china patterns I have ever seen. I have to admit that I struggled with putting it up for sale. It is called "Spanish Convent" and it depicts a man and woman walking in a beautiful setting approaching a large estate. This piece was made in Staffordshire England in the 1830's and is 15 inches long and 12 inches wide. Because of its advanced age, there are a two condition issues. The first can be seen in the picture--there is a small chip in the top rim area and there is a superficial line on the back of the platter. Despite these issues, this platter (with similar condition issues) only rarely comes up for auction and has consistently sold for much more money than this asking price. In my opinion this is a treasure.
