Offering this nice 26" long patented plumb & level, marked "STANLEY RULE & LEVEL CO. NEW BRITAIN CONN U.S.A. PAT. 6-2-91 2-4-96 & 6-23-96" on the level brass top plate cover. There is also another patent date on the ajustment screws brass cover "PAT. FEB. 18. 90". The cap covers the patented steel adjustment screws. (Note: Over of the adjustment screw covers is missing where you see the two small slots on the main top plate). Both the level and plumb glass vials are in good working order. This one has a good oblong shaped brass cover plate, and a good brass top plate, with little wear. The brass hardware is in good shape, with some minor tarnishing and a few scratches. There is also the one piece type brass end caps well attached but each end brass has been dented, the dents do not interfere with the use of this tool. The cherry wood is nice, with some edge and corner wear and dings as you would expect in a level about 100 years old, but is not cracked, and has a nice polished finish. It sets flat, and is not warped. A nice looking, quality level from the late 1800's era!
