This is a nice clean ratchet brace marked "STANLEY 923-12IN" on the steel handle arm, and is also marked "PAT. 2485991" on the ratchet area, the chuck is also marked "STANLEY MADE IN U.S.A.". It has good, solid, clean, solid cocobolo handles both in good condition with some minor wear, tiny nicks and dings mostly. The brace is 14.5 long overall and a 12" diameter swing. This is a clean brace, with little wear, good clean darkened metal surfaces, about 60% of the original nickel plating has come off. The nickel plating was very thick during this period and tends to peel off in small area as it ages. This is not due to abuse in this case, but of normal aging and careful use. A good working 2-jaw chuck (spring loaded jaws) and ratchet system. The end handle is ball bearing type bushing, spins freely. An upper mid-range quality tool that is still in very good working condition, just missing some of the nice shiny finish. A nice looking tool!
