Steve Gelberg is a Bay Area photographer. From the artist's statement: 'The essence of photography lies in the pure pleasure of seeing: the experience of opening a more intuitive, patient, contemplative eye to the world. This sensitized vision contributes to a heightening of awareness and a deepening of aesthetic emotion. I experience image-making as an ongoing exploration of the strange, synergistic relationship between quiet receptivity and probing curiosity. The human form in particular provides an endless spectacle for the curious eye and probing spirit.'
