Antique, Late 19th-early 20th century, circa 1900 AD, framed German porcelain plaque, depicting Queen Louise of Prussia 1776-1810, after a painting by Gustav Carl Ludwig Richter, painted in 1879.

The portrait is hand-painted with a fine brush with superb details and beautiful colors.

She is wearing a gold tiara with a star in her hair along with a scarf over her golden locks, dressed in an Empire-style, pale-celadon dress with pink ribbon sash and an ermine-lined blue velvet robe flowing down her shoulder.

Signed illegibly by the artist in the lower right corner.

The back is stamped with a round mark "MADE IN GERMANY," hand-painted number "56", a remnant of an old, red and white paper label, and an old company label that made the custom frame.

According to the 1891 McKinley Traffic Act, every foreign article entering the United States had to be legibly marked in English with the country of origin's name.

It is framed in a gilded wood frame with a black velvet passe-partout.
