Tiffany Bronze and Marble Mantel Clock Depicting Cupid and Psyche

$13,950.00
Quantity available: 1

Our large mantel clock in the neoclassical style after the model by Claude Michallon (1751-1799) dates from the Napoleon III period and was retailed by Tiffany.  30.25 x 20.25 x 12 in.  It is crafted from rouge marble and finely cast bronze featuring the patinated figures of Amor (Cupid) and Psyche, and fine neoclassical gilt bronze motifs including Psyche in a chariot drawn by peacocks.

Cleaned since its acquisition by our client, it is in good condition. There are chip losses to the corners of the marble, oxidation to the bronze finishes, rubbing wear and scratches, and a break to the bronze wreath applied to the front face.  The suspension spring for the pendulum is missing, and the pendulum may have been replaced. There is no key. An horologist may certainly return the clock to proper working order.
