This particular piece is a very rare and very high quality vintage pounce pot or sander that was used to sprinkle an ink drying powder onto freshly written text. This was common before ink blotters where more commonly used. It is shaped like it would fit into a lap desk. It has a removable lid with tiny holes in the top, like a salt shaker. Great condition with no dents or scratches. Some tarnish. Marked, "Tiffany + Co. Sterling 225." The number 225 is not the sterling number but the piece number. Buyer pays shipping.
