Boston & Maine"s Train Number 54 with new E-7's in experimental "Rock Island" style paint, sporting silver flanks to match stainless steel equipment, waits at Greenfield, Masachusetts in 1946. By 1948 these Units were painted into the standard Boston & Maine maroon with yellow stripes.
