Early twentieth century bronze and ivory statue signed Akl. Ges. Gladenbeck, Berlin [Aklien Gese Schaft Gladenbeck, European] "Woman with Hands in the Air". Gladenbeck is a European artist famous for his portraits and garden torch paintings. He was also a sculptor who worked with Sohn. Bronze works by Gladenbeck have sold for up to $12,650 at Sotheby's auction house. This statue measures approx. 17" in height and stands upon a marble base. Wonderful gold patina on the bronze dress and the face, arms, hands, legs, and feet of the woman are in ivory. This statue is in fine original condition with no signs of restoration.
