Or Best OfferOur large casting of Au But (The Finish Line) after Alfred Boucher (1850-1934) measures 26.75 inches tall, 41 in wde and 21 in deep, and features a warm brown patina. Attributed to the Barbedienne foundry of Paris, late 19th to early 20th century, and in good condition. There are scuffs, scratches and rubbing wear, including a small discoloration to the top of the head of the lead runner and a noticeable vertical scratch across the front of the left arm of the lead runner.
The most recent offering at major auction of a casting of this size occurred at Sotheby's in London on December 13, 2017, when lot 25, a casting measuring 27 1/8 by 39 3/4 (69 by 101 cm), was offered with an estimate of 30,000-50,000 GBP ($40,500-67,500) and was passed.
