South American Argentinian Cowboy Gaucho Knife Dagger

Excellent quality, Semi-Antique, South American, Argentinian cowboy's Gaucho, knife / dagger "FACON" from, mid-20th century or earlier, with a very sharp 17.5 cm long steel blade, the cutting edge 5.5 cm from the point is serrated.
The blade is finely etched on both sides with gauchos and cattle.
The handle is made of natural deer antler with silver alpaca pommel adorned with a finely repousse and engraved with foliage. The handle is nicely profiled for grasping ability and fits the hand very well, allowing this Facon to be used as an excellent combat knife.
The silvered, heavy metal scabbard is decorated on both sides with a relief decoration depicting gauchos with a herd of cattle. It has a belt clip decorated with a horse's head within a horseshoe with oak leaves and acorns.


MEASUREMENTS:
The knife's overall length, sheathed in the scabbard, is 37.5 cm (14.76 inches).


CONDITION: Shows signs of use and wear on the etched blade and silvered scabbard.
