This neat old vintage bank has such an interesting history, Since it didn't have a key, I asked its original owner about it and they said when you opened an account with the Farmers bank, they gave you this to keep your change in. In order to get you to put the money back in their bank and to help you resist temptation to "borrow " from it, they kept a master key at the bank to unlock it and all the other banks they gave out. This owner didn't think there was much money in this and he thought the bank was probably closed so he just kept the change in it and sold us the bank. It is really neat because it has a folding handle so you can hold it like a miniature purse. This measures 3 1/2" x 2 1/2".
