Vintage Brass Slide Whistle 1940 Orphan Annie Dog Sandy

 

This two piece brass slide whistle was made in 1940 as a Quaker Oats premium, and was called a “3 way mystery dog whistle”. It features Little Orphan Annie’s dog Sandy. It creates a very melodious sound as you blow into it and move the slide in and out. Closed, the whistle measures 3 3/8 inches, and fully extended it is 5 1/4 inches Slide whistles have a range of one octave, and are usually pitched at C concert note.
