The Meritorious Service Medal was authorized in 1980 and may be awarded to Compatriots who have rendered long, faithful and meritorious service to their chapter, state society, district, or to the National Society. This medal may be awarded by the National Society, a district, a state society, or a chapter and is awarded for lesser services than would merit the Patriot Medal. It may be awarded to an individual once by the National Society, a district, a state society or a chapter. The President General may make multiple awards of this medal to a compatriot without referral to any committee. The meritorious service rendered should be stated in the citation. These medals/pins are in good vintage condition. One medal is the National Society of the Sons of the American revolution good citizenship medal sculpted silver with a date of 1776 on the front while the back states awarded to with an inscribed name of Alexander Hamilton. The second is a Meritorious service medal with a sculpted silver picture of Alexander Hamilton and inscribed on back Alexander Hamilton and dated June 26 1987. Both pieces are sterling silver weighing 21.0 grams. These medals with ribbons would be a perfect addition to anyone's collection.
