Vintage Tall Wicker Sewing Basket from the Bon Marche made in Japan. It is 18" tall including the handle but without the handle is 10" and 9.75" in diameter. It has blue paisley on the top and lined with the same.
The condition is good. There are a few loose wicker strands on the lid next to the hinge. It has a trim of hardened ribbon of satin on the top rim of the container part. Some of the trim is cracked on the back side near the hinge. The rest is in great vintage condition. The Bon Marche was a large and very popular department store chain in the Pacific North West with it's flagship store in downtown Ballard. Known to locals as the Bon. It began in the late 19th Century. It closed up in about 2014 and was bought out by Macy’s
