Wards Master Chisel Socket Beveled 1.5 inch

$38.00
Quantity available: 1

This is a clean and sharp 1.5" wide, bevel back socket chisel that is marked by the distributor "WARDS MASTER QUALITY" which was the trademark stamp for tools made exclusively for Montgomery-Wards retail stores in the mid-1900's. It is a medium/heavy duty with a good socket and a heavy duty handle with the iron ferrule at the end. This one is in nice shape, considering the years. This one has plenty of length, 6.8" cutting edge to end of socket, 12.25" including the handle. We note some minor pitting on the underside, about 3" back from the current cutting edge, that will not effect the cutting edge for quite a few re-sharpenings under normal use. The important area around the cutting edge is very clean as you can see in the pictures. The cutting edge on this chisel holds an edge very well, a pleasure to use! The handle is solid, in this case has no cracks, fits the socket very well, very solid hardwood.
