This is a nice clean antique 1-3/4" wide beveled socket chisel marked: WINCHESTER TRADE MARK MADE IN U.S.A. NO. 4853 - 1 3/4 IN. The mark is on the outside of the socket so the photo shows only part of the mark.  This chisel is made with choice steel and steel treatment to produce a long lasting cutting edge.  The steel on this one is somewhat more polished than average, not rust or damage, some dings on the socket area since that steel is a softer steel.  The hardwood handle is in very good condition, has one small grain defect but otherwise like new.  Overall a beautiful hard to find chisel!
