These 21.5" long overall 8" blade patent pending, early design hedge shears that are in very good working order, in clean condition. They are marked by the maker, "WISS NEWARD NJ. PAT. APPL'D FOR 8". They are of very nice quality, typical of this type of shear made in the 1920's era. The shears are sharp and ready to use, with a few small cutting edge imperfections, no rust or pitting, the handles are hardwood, with some wood grain separations but still holding tight to the cast steel underside of the handles and have a very nice pinned type steel that holds very well. The handles are comfortable in hand. These shear weigh in at just over 3lbs. This rare early model features an improved pivot joint that is very snug and the shears cut fairly well when tested but could use some cutting edge tune up if you intend to use them.
