Antique 14kt GOld Enamel jet Hair mourning eye brooch

BEautifully platted blond hair set under rock crystal, is wonderfully encased in an eye shaped 14kt gold brooch. Image the ladies during the mid 1800's who sat in their parlors learning this craft and weaving the hair of loved ones and friends who had passed. This brooch looks so very much like an eye ( also another popular style of the victorian memento jewelery) with the black jet and enamel that resembles eyelashes.Obviously a piece with good Karma as it holds a loved ones treasured hair, this has survived the ages with loving care and a little wear. This measures 1 1/2" x 1" and has a C Clasp back. THe back is oval and arched so the hair will fit easily into it. The rock crystal is beveled so it looks as if it is almost magnified. Gentle wear to the enamel and jet tendrils but certainly nothing that stands out or detracts unless you use a magnifier.
