1789A US Colonial New France 2Sous Billon Coin Vlack393
Description:

1789A Paris Mint US Colonial New France 2 Sous Billon Silver coin.  About 20% silver and 80% copper, this coin looks typical, with just copper showing.

Specifically struck for export to the New French Colonies, which included Louisiana Territory, the famed Mississippi of John Law Mississippi Bubble notoriety, the Caribbean, Canada, and northern regions of the 13 American colonies.

This coin is Vlack variety #393 on page 144 of his Illustrated Catalogue of the French Billon Coinage in the Americas.  The first one in the date is like the letter I, and not the usual number 1.  Rarity-1, which is the most common, but you still do not see tons of this issue.

This coin is well detailed, apparently circulated in New France, and has been cleaned and polished. Priced accordingly.

Satisfaction guaranteed.

Other dates and even counterstamped coins of this type are listed and more will be listed ASAP.
