A group of five Chinese Immortals, including Kuan Ti, god of war and literature, Kuan Yin, goddess of mercy and Shou-lao, god of longevity, are shown meeting in an elaborate hall on this finely executed reverse-painted glass panel of a large scholar's desk screen. It is framed in lustrous rosewood and has a removable stand finely carved of the same wood; the back is lacquered in dark red. Chinese, early to mid-Nineteenth Century, in excellent condition, the screen is approximately 24-1/2 inches tall and 16 inches wide.
