Disston York State Pruner Hand Saw 20 Inch

$82.00
Quantity available: 1

This is a very rare, hard to find pruning saw with a 20" long blade. It is marked "YORK STATE PRUNER WARRENTED SPRING STEEL PERFECT TEMPER HENRY DISSTON & SONS PHILADELPHIA, U.S.A." etched on the blade. The medallion is marked "DISSTON *PHILA* on the handle. The blade is clean and nice, the etch is a bit light, but can still be fully seen. The 7 teeth per inch blade is straight and sharp, there is a few minor stains and some small pitted areas on the tip end, but pitting is on less than 5% of the saw surfaces, and shouldn't effect use of the saw. The beech wood handle is quite nice with minimal wear, one tiny chip off the upper ear, and a few small edge dings, near the medallion mostly. The handle finish is smooth and nice in appearance. There is a few very slight grain separations in the wood, but the handle is very solid, not cracked through in any area. This saw didn't have a number in the mid 1910's catalogs, but just listed as the York State Pruner. This is the first one of these that I have seen, and in such nice shape!
