This is a super antique tile piece. It is an 8" French tile. The tile is very nice with a French peasant scene, the fellow is resting against a tree and his Donkey or Burro is munching on grass as they take a lunch break. It is a transfer tile that is all hand colored and very nicely done. There is a signature down in the grass area, it looks like, " Lanter" and a backwards F. The condition is very good, there are a few minor chips to the outer edges of the tile. This tile would date from the 1880's.
