Knowles Taylor Knowles? GREAT HP VASE, This vase is light & has applied handles & a design in the body of the vase as well as a most unusual hand painted design. It has a double gourd shape & the only mark on the bottom is 161 incised in the vase & a brown Z. The vase is above average quality & looks very similar to the ones shown in the Knowles Taylor book, but this exact piece is not. It is a little wobbly, Needs a piece of felt on the bottom. No chips et, only problem I can see with this is wear on the handles. A portion of the gold has come off. This is one beautiful vase! Aprox 8 1/4 x 3 1/2" across widest point. Has a parian type glaze & is a matt finish. Very nice.
