Hand-painted charger, or large plate, with currants. Limoges mark for Charles Martin, maker of the white ware that was amateur decorated, probably in the U.S. Artist's initials of "A.R.B." discretely placed on front of plate. Well proportioned decorations and colors. Metallic gold edging and webs amongst the fruit. Mark was used after 1891, into the early 1900's. Measures 13 7/8"d. Has one chip to the back rim as shown: does not show from the front. Hanging wire attached through pierced foot of plate. Sold as is. Price recently reduced.  Inglenook Antiques...Established 1989.
