All decked out in his hunting outfit, heavy tunic, boots and brimmed cap, with pouch and powder horn at his side, a long-barreled rifle in one hand and the proof of his prowess in the other, this elegant bearded and mustachioed gentilhomme is ready for his next prey. Brass brads lend brilliance to the eyes. Condition is excellent, with only the lower part of one rabbit foot (good luck?) missing and and an old repair to the round base. French, third quarter of the Nineteenth Century. Carved from one piece of fine boxwood that has gained a deep-amber luster over the years. Little man is approximately 6-1/2 inches tall and 2-1/2 inches wide.
