"Chester" pattern transferware platter with embossed shell border, made by S. Fielding & Co., of Staffordshire, England. Dates from the 1870s-80s. Measures 9.25" x 14.5" oval. Brown transfer with hand-painted accents. Sponged gold trim shows wear, as expected. Has small chips to the underside of each handle as shown, no other chips or cracks. Sold as is.
