"Chester" pattern transferware platter with embossed shell border, made by S. Fielding & Co., of Staffordshire, England.  Dates from the 1870s-80s.  Measures 9.25" x 14.5" oval.  Brown transfer with hand-painted accents.  Sponged gold trim shows wear, as expected.  Has small chips to the underside of each handle as shown, no other chips or cracks.  Sold as is.  Inglenook Antiques...Established 1989.
