Hand-painted Theodore Haviland cabinet plate pair, from Limoges, France. Sailboat scenery with seaweed accents. Measure 9 3/8"d. Red "TH" mark as shown, dates from before 1892. Very little surface wear, though 1 plate has a 1.75"l hairline crack to the rim, and the other has a small chip to the backside of the rim as shown. Both have some gold loss to the rim, still not bad for being together for 130 years! Very hard-to-find. Sold as is, and as a pair. Inglenook Antiques...Established 1989.
