Antique Roycrofters Little Journeys Book Set 14 Volumes Memorial Edition 1916 Elbert Hubbard

Elbert Hubbard's "Little Journeys to the Homes of..." book set of 14 volumes, printed by the Roycrofters in 1916.  Memorial edition, due to the fact that Elbert Hubbard had perished aboard the Lusitania in 1915, as it was sunk by a German U-boat.  Each volume embraces a different subject: Famous Women, Great Lovers, Eminent Painters, American Statesmen, Great Musicians, Eminent Orators, Great Scientists, Great Businessmen, Eminent Artists, Great Teachers, English Authors, Great Philosophers, Great Reformers, and Good Men & Great.  Each volume is 8.5"h, made of laid paper with deckled and gilt edges, hand-tooled soft leather, stamped with an Art Nouveau/Arts & Crafts tree on the front.  Some pages are still uncut at the edges.  Some tears to the soft leather with a few pieces missing, mostly on the spines.  Overall in good condition with many illustrations.  If you  have specific questions, please feel free to contact me.  Sold as is, and as a set.  Inglenook Antiques...Established 1989.
