Circa 1950's Handbag: I really like these handbags. They are so cool looking !!! This one has an open weave over white pearlized plastic that I beleive to be lucite. The handle is clear lucite. The clasp has lost its "hook" to lock it closed, although part of the chain is there. You could use almost any type of hook to close it. Could be quite decorative or very plain. The lining is intact and in pretty good condition. It has a texture a lot like grosgrain ribbon. The original tag is intact-Dorset-Rex Fifth Avenue. The surface of the metal plague that the handle attatches to has some rust. There is a patent number on the bottom. It is stamped twice and is not all there, but looks like the same as the one on another handbag I have like this. (#24868) The bag is in good condition, despite some surface scratches and scufs. It is aprox. 6" Tall X 9" Wide X 4". This would really make a statement !!!
