Vintage Novelty S&P Condiment Tray Only Shafford Japan

Tray that belongs to a condiment set (that consists of 2 frog salt & pepper shakers with a mustard jar in between). From the photo in one of Gene Florence's Salt & Pepper books, the mustard pot should look like the caterpillar in the Alice in Wonderland book. Tray is decorated with green lily pads, dark pink blossoms, and white reserves for the additional pieces. Marked "Shafford China, Japan" on underside in green. Measures 8.5"l x 2.75"w. Some crazing to the glaze and 2 small chips on the underside. Circa 1940's. Sold as is. A great completer piece for the S&P enthusiast!  Inglenook Antiques...Established 1989.
